What kind of bag does the strap attach to?
Any bag that has a detachable strap. Unclip the existing strap and hook the SALT strap into the rings on either side. (Just envision us demonstrating like flight attendants.)
You can even use SALT straps with some bags that don’t have detachable straps. If you can tuck your existing strap into your bag and there is some type of loop for the SALT strap to hook onto, you can totally make it work.
How do I know if my bag has a detachable strap? If it doesn’t, where can I find a bag with one?
You will see rings on either side of the bag, where the original strap attaches. There are usually metal, leather or canvas loops. If there are clips or hooks that allow you to remove the strap, you’re golden!

My strap fits me longer/shorter than the women in the pictures. Do the straps come in different lengths? Are they adjustable?
The classic strap is 41” from end of hook to end of hook. We find this size fits most people and bags in the right combination. As of now, that’s our only length.
The straps are not adjustable, but the size of your bag has a big impact on how the strap fits. If you want your bag to sit higher, choose a smaller, more shallow purse. If you want your strap to hang lower, choose a longer/deeper bag.We recommend trying on different silhouettes until you find one (or more!) that works best for you.
How do I wash my strap?
You can soak the cotton part your strap (not the leather!) in mild detergent for an hour, rinse the soap out and let it air dry. Do not put it in the washing machine!
My strap has some tiny strings hanging off. What do I do?
Send us a photo, so that we can assess. Our straps are made entirely by hand so there can and will be small imperfections.
How do I know which side of the strap is the front?
The weave on the front of the strap is closer together than on the back. The Salt logo is also located on the front of the strap.
Do you have any straps with silver hardware?
We don’t carry straps with silver hardware at the moment. But we think it’s super chic to mix the brass with other metals. We suggest giving it a try!
When are pre-orders charged?
All purchases made on our site, whether they are for in-stock items or pre-order items, are charged at the time of purchase.
When will my pre-order arrive?
Although we try our best to send out all pre-ordered items by or before the expected ship date listed at the time of purchase, sometimes there may be a slight delay.
It is our general policy to update customers via email if an item is to be delayed more than one week from the original ship date. If you haven't been contacted via email, and you can't recall the expected ship date for your items, please check your order confirmation as the expected ship date is on it.
Do the straps ever go on sale?
We will occasionally run a promotion on our site. There will be no price adjustments for previous orders.

How do I return my strap? Can I make an exchange?
Full price merchandise purchased online can be shipped back within 14 days from the date of receipt for a full refund. All items must be returned in the condition in which they were received. Returns that do not meet our policy guidelines will not be accepted and will be returned to sender.

My tracking it says “pre-shipment” even though I ordered a few days ago.

Do you ship Internationally?
Yes, we do! However, International shipping fees do not include custom and duty fees. Unfortunately our website is unable to calculate these exact fees for you at checkout. The customer is responsible for all custom and duty fees.
